Big tach install, ? on wiring 200 1986

I got the big tach to replace the clock and and the small clock that installs to the right of the gauge cluster. The actual install of the tach was easy. But I have a question about the wiring. The tach has a 3 prong on top and 2 prong on bottom. Both male. I assumed the small clock plugs into the 3 prong, but what plugs into the 2 prong? A previous post i read that was somewhat related to this mention a red/white wire connected to the tach. I found the red/white wire, but it's a single connector.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
