What did I do wrong on my strut?- replaced one noise with another 200 1990

Fellow bricksters. I replaced a strut on Monday because of a vibration when I hit a bump. I did the lean-iit-out method. Everything went well. When I replaced the strut (bilstein economy) I also replaced the top rubber mount with the non-Scan Tech version from FCP Groton.

Now I have diffenent noises from the strut. When I hit a bump I get a rapping noise, and when I bounce it I get a rubbing/scraping/groaning from the strut. I went back out tonight and tighened the big nut on the top of the stut another 1/2 turn and the sway bar link. I used the nut that comes with the new strut. Noises are still there.

What do I do now?
