1982 gl turbo wagon bad shake need help!! 200

i have just purchased a 1982 240 gl turbo wagon and the past couple of weeks it is shaking pretty bad and becasue of all the symptoms i belive it is the fuel pump in the gas tank but i was hopin for a second opinion ok here we go when pressing on the gas at low speeds just alittle shaking and the higher the speed (thus further the gas pedal is being pressed) it shakes worse and as soon as i let off the gas the shaking competly stops the car will also jerk somtimes feeling almost like a transmission problem but it sounds like the fuel pump is shutting off or getting clogged becasue it always has a pretty loud hum but when the car jerks i dont hear the fuel pump but then as soon as it is done jerking i can hear the fuel pump again. let me know, also a cheap place to get the the fuel pump would be great seeing as i am a broke as college student
