J Type ID Question 120-130

That's funny!

I used the front half (valve housing) of a '83 J OD (M46) and the back half (clutch/planetary gear) of a '73 J OD (M41), put in a rebuild kit from IPD, and it's running prefect in my '66 122 (M41 tranny). I know the valve housing is different between the two overdrives (IPD's rebuild kit has the year starting in '76, so that must be the start of the newer OD). My guess is that the valve housing is the difference, but the ODs are compatible.
