air box damper valve 200 1989

Hmmm - - -
I just now removed the heater damper valve assembly from my '89 240s air box. Frame, spring, damper, the works.

Did I make a mistake doing that??

All that's left is the box (front and rear) with the filter inside, and the 2 plastic ducts going in and out. The heated duct from exhaust manifold is gone. I suppose I could get one, and route it somewhere to pick up cold air.

I read some other posts that referred to a vacuum hose. I didn't see one. Is it at the bottom of the air box? Or is that only for earlier years??

Thanks in advance,
Bruce
