Throttle body question...hmmmmmmmm 200

I'm cleaning the throttle body on the '83 245. I discovered that essentially none of the flame trap hoses were intact as the prior owner attempted to use electrician's tape to keep the hoses from separating. Couple of questions. One, can one just clean and reuse the metal flame trap? Is it better to remove the plastic knob on the throttle body (I guess the idle adjuster) when cleaning so as to do a more thorough job, and possibly prevent some kind of breakdown of the plastic knob itself from exposure to the tb cleaner chemicals? Can all the hoses needed be purchased from IPD or FCP, or is this better left to getting parts from the dealership to assure quality? Any thing I'm forgetting as I get prepared to do this task would be greatly appreciated by way of suggestion, comment or instruction.

Thanks for the help!

Sincerely,

JBeechcraft
