Changing over to AMS OIL Should I do an OIL Flush 200

I will be chaging my 1984 245 TI over to AMS oil very soon, but I'm really trying to figure out if sould do an engene flush. I have heard that some people are reluctant to do it on high milage cars, while Ams oil sugguests it on many cars. I have also heard that synthetic oil can casue the filter to clog if the engene is to dirty. I have pulled the filler cap off before and it looks pretty decent. Thanks for any advice and happy bricking.
