uneven brake pad wear 200

Replaced the front brakes (pads & rotors) and bearings with a friend yesterday,

However, the tire place that told me 2 weeks ago about my worn rotors also told me the rear pads are wearing unevenly, that I need new calipers.

They are very thin at bottom, thicker at top coming into the rotors at an angle. I don't recal if both inboard and outboard pads are wearing like this, but both the left and right rear have the problem.

The question is, can I just throw new pads on, possibly check the pistons for binding and hope for the best?

I will likely replace the car in 2006 and don't want to spend much if I can avoid it.

By the way, the front brakes went fairly well, although it did take a while to bleed them!

Thanks

Mike
