Interchangable starters 444-544

The starter on my 82 245 turbo (b21ft) died once. All I had laying around was a starter off a '68 B18 144. It bolted right up. I believe that the starters gained an extra terminal in the later years, or maybe the other way round but I think if you had both laying in front of you you could take the terminal off the dead one if need be.

Hopefully someone else can confirm this but my experience is that all red block (B18-20/ 21-23) starters are physically interchangeable.
