New B20 engine startup. The Alert is alert! 140-160 1974

Sounds like the oil pressure relief piston in the oil pump is stuck. That happened on my PV engine too, for some unknown reason. The only probles it caused was that it would trash oil pressure gauges almost immediately. Another danger (didn't happen to me) is that it could pop the case of the oil filter. Or blow out the o-rings on the pipe that feeds the pressurized oil to the block from the pump.
