help my volvo sh*t the bed 700 1988

I presume from your sig this is a Turbo.
If turbo, then no on-board diagnostics.
If non-turbo, then try to get fault codes from the computer.

I remember something about a "limp home mode" for the computer. Maybe that's what your 740 is doing.

Maybe get your car on a lift so you can look around down below, and see if maybe you pulled loose a vacuum line low down, like one to a vapor canister??

Maybe you hit in such a way as to damage a fuel line? Again, look below.

I'm just guessing here. I see no other posts, so I figure it's worth a stab.
