Cold start injector and thermal timer switch 200 1989

Greetings

This is an update to an earlier post

http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=957303&show_all=1

I've checked the CSI on a cold engine and got the most 4V on the connector going to the CSI. After a few seconds there was no voltage reading. So I assume the thermal timer switch is working right? But is 4V enough? I've read that you can test if the CSI is spraying fuel without actually starting the engine. How is it done? Should I test the CSI or do you guys think it's ok? I also cleaned the contacts on the CSI and thermal timer swithc and repeated the test - voltage reading remained the same.

Now to the thermal timer switch, is it located way back on the block under intake manifold 4? I unplugged it and cleaned the connectors and terminal.

"Unplug it & test for +12v to one of the leads while cranking - that's a lead directly from the starter solenoid"

I wanted to test it as described above but I can't tell which lead is from the starter solenoid. The harness goes or rather disappears under the intake manifold.

Out of interest I also tested the resistance on the terminals of the connector going to the CSI - around 50 ohms. I also tested the resistance of the thermal timer switch after unplugging it wires - around 50 ohms too through it. Not sure if these readings are helpful. This was done with the engine off and cold.

Appreciate any advice. BTW accumulator is fine.

Thanks
