Fuel line removal at gas tank 200 1984

I am trying to determine what is the cause of a noisy fuel pump on the 242Ti. Read here that air could be the culprit so I wanted to remove the intank pump assy.
As I was trying to remove the fuel lines from atop the tank. the supply hose will not pull off. Seem to remember this problem when I replaced the pump on my old 242, spent a few days trying to make various hoses work after cutting off the old one.

What is the best way to do this.? Bentley says that parts are availble from the dealer to make or repair the hose. Anyone know if this is available? What parts should I get before I cut off the old one (if that is the only way).?
