Last week I would have chimed in about brushes, though I see you have already looked for rebuild parts. But over the weekend two of my 240s had alternator problems not fixed by regulator/brush assemblies. Two in one weekend!
You would be much better off having yours rebuilt locally than buying one of the auto parts house's remans. It is hard to imagine a place as large and needfully independent as Anchorage without a Bosch-knowing rebuilder in town.
Have you checked these guys?
