SU HIF6 Carbs 140-160 1973

I have come across what appears to be a very nice set of HIF6 carbs with linkages. Can anyone tell me what years and models B20 were equipped with HIF6 carbs? Were they a real pain to keep in tune compared to the HS6 carbs? They seem a lot more complicated, with hot start valves and secondary throtle linkages. Did the 1800 ever come with them, or did Volvo go to EFI on the 1800 before they started equipping other models with the HIF6?
Would it be more effort than benefit to try to adapt them to an 1800 that now is running HS6 carbs? Would there be any benefit at all?
What other vehicle manufacturers used these carbs?
Thanks
JD
