No it is not significantly. 140-160 1974

The so called flat freeze plugs work great if they are installed properly. I would just go back through and give the existing ones a good whack. There is not enough of a lip to use the domestic style cupped ones.

When I was a young dumb ass Volvo trainnie technician I took my 74 140 up to the high desert for New Year's and it got down to 17 degrees and all I had in the system was water! You guessed it, it pushed half of those freeze plugs out. I had to thaw the car, pull the manifolds right there on the dry lake bed and pound the whole thing back together. The freeze plugs held just fine but I don't think it liked being frozen as about 9-10 months later it threw a rod right threw the side of the block while doing 4,000 RPM+.
