230F uses oil at start of oil change 200 1988

My 230F uses 3/4 of a Quart for the first 500 miles then will not use anymore for the rest of the 3000 mls.The flame trap is clean the vaccum hose to the intake is clean also.The engine leaks no oil.The head has new valve stem seals,compression is equal on all.Has anyone had this problem and what was done
about it.The engine has 130,000 mls on it.I've talked to other mechanics and they don't know what to do either.The only answer that I have gotten was to drive it, but there must be a answer to this problem.Thanks for any reply to this posted message.
