Failed NOX - snake oil 700 1992

My 92 740 failed nox. 2.50 grams/mile limit, my reading was 2.93 grams/mile. I've read the faqs and searched the posts and found a lot of good information that I am going to try. However.....
My question is snake oil additives to reduce nox. I've always heard that methyl alcahol (dry gas) works. Any body have any input on trying a few bottles of drygas? Any body have any luck with off the shelve additives that offer to reduce emmissions? Again I am going to use all the information I found on the Brickboard to ready the car for retest but I'm looking to hedge by bets with some snakeoil. Thanks.
