It's a 1967 120-130

The booster on the previous photo is a Girling unit (a original oem part used by volvo). They are no more on market. Some companies offer overhaul kits, but, as I read, the rebuilds donīt work like the originals.

As a alternative, the lockheed unit (used on hillmans, triumphs, alfas, jaguars and a lot of similar cars of that era) fit the bill. You can buy it new (around 300 bucks) or take one from second hand. Rebuild kit are available on the market (I take mine from a Hillman Imperial scrap, and the overhaul kit come from Miami). Also, you need to make a bracket for the unit (easy work for me, but I have some acquaintance with the iron weld from my high school days).

"Sensitive" parts are the air filter (the white "ovni" on top the unit, I change it with every second oil change) and the upper hose (I replace it every 6 months). If the booster fails, the brake system reverts to the original setup (more leg pressure to brake).

CVI has it on catalog:

Also, you can make a search on google with "lockheed servo brake" for additional info.

On practice, the servo donīt help to reduce braking distance, but lighten the leg effort (my wife appreciate it).

Happy volving,
