K-Jet Starts ok, idles up to 2000RPM, then drops down almost stalling??@!*! 200 1985

Hi all,
Im having some problems with my brick with B23E and K-jet/ 340000+km. Ive been running on 98 octane premium unleaded but with no valve-saver additive.
I have a Cold air intake setup, and had the exhaust modified with no resonator and no cat. The car was running beautifully, especially after I pulled and cleaned the injectors a couple of weeks ago - albeit with a slight stumble at idle (has done this for as long as i can remember) BUT now, the car runs really badly, oh, and its getting quite cold in Australia now, as low as 15 degrees C in the mornings.

At startup, the car idles straight up to about 2000RPM and then gradually over a couple of minutes drops down to about 800RPM and runs really rough- almost stalling. Performance is hopeless, even when manually shifting the auto and letting it rev out. I am also getting the occassional puff of smoke at startup.

The injector holes were packed with crap when i claened the injectors, the temp gauge has just died and return line from the flame trap is full of crap.

Anyone got any ideas what i can do- car is a daily driver and i reallly want it to be running tip top.

Thanks in advance,
yeedogga
