1983 turbo no start, relationship of turn signal and fuel injection relay , fuse #13 200 1983

Died suddenly, cranks won't start.1983 240 turbo. Stalled, no start, Tack not moving while cranking engine. Found turn signal fuse blown.As it turns out,turn signal shares fuse with constant idle system/fuel injection and various other systems at fuse location #13. I had replaced turn signal assembly that day and was on a test drive, when I flipped on turn signal and car died. Of course at the time I was in traffic and did not realize the relationship of the two actions. I had pinched a turn signal assembly wire in the hold down bolt of the turn signal assembly. Of course I got the leering eye of everyone passing and could almost hear them laughing at the idiot driving the old Junker Volvo (Actually this is my 100k super clean turbo wagon that’s been babied it’s whole life, however I am in Michigan and driving an old Volvo can put you at odds with the pick up truck / SUV crowd here). So I was racking my brain trying to figure out why she was running so well and then just died. I was ready to go thru the whole fuel injection/ fuel pump trouble shooting routine. But had noticed the #13 fuse blown so replaced it and Viola she fired right!! Was only by chance I tried to start her after replacing the fuse, because I really did not know that was the cause. I was sure main pump or worse (I suspected a short in fuel injection system). Then I noticed tach was not jumping as I cranked engine (sign of hall / crank sensor trouble). I was ready for a day of repair work. SO if ya ever have this happen, hope you read this post. Dave in Michigan
