exhaust leak at the rear of the turbo 700 1985

I noticed a chalky or powder type mark along the seam between the turbo charger and the exhaust pipe on my 740. I soaked the area with WD-40 and started it up. At idle I saw nothing leak out but when I revved the engine I could see that exhaust was leaking and causing the WD to bubble a bit from between the charger and the exhaust pipe. Is this a big deal to fix? I've not worked on the turbo, and don't know if this is something that will catastrophically fail, stranding me somewhere, or if it's one of those things that fail over the long haul.

Thanks.
