New crank position sensor - but now won't start 200

Hello again -

I posted last week about my old CPS being stuck - well - success on that point - finally got the liquid wrench to loosen things up and managed to pull the sensor out. Cleaned things up, put a light touch of grease on the outside of the new sensor, slowly worked it into the hole, plugged it into the harness, bolted the sensor it and went to fire up the car. No go! Checked to see if there was a spark and no luck. Grabbed the multimeter to test the CPS. Got about about 1800 ohms resistance - but testing alternating current while cranking the engine (AC set to 200) - no noticable signal. Is my meter simply not set low enough to measure it - am I not thinking of something else?

Help!

Zach
