Help, my volvo wont go!! 700 1990

I was driving home from work and the old girl died! My 1990 740 GLE Wagon stopped running, it apparantly has no spark. It will turn over and lights radio work. But it will not go. The shop I took it to said they have no idea how to fix it, I am hoping someone has a suggetion? There is only this shop in my town and really would like to keep it if I can figure out what the problem is.
