carb gasoline leaks..? 200

when engine got hot (3/4 way to the temp gauge red sector) in traffic jams it began to idle very rough and a strong gasoline smell emerged from the hood. The carb (Stromberg 175CD) had a fuel all over the cold start device and the intake hose nearby which had happily evaporated in a minute.
the fuel filter between the mechanical pump and the carb had only 1-1.5 cm3 of fuel in it... then i was unable to start engine again until it cooled down to 60-70 deg.C.

had blamed the rubber hose at the carb intake (thought it had overheated and crackled), replaced and retightened, engine started and fuel filter was filled in a minute or so. but when the engine got hot the same problem had showed up again: rough idle, unable to start hot engine, it starts only with accelerator pedal fully pressed down and jumps back'n'forth and runs very unstable. this time there wasn't any fuel over the carb, but the fuel filter after the pump was virtually empty again...
however during the night city ride when temp gauge showed no more than half of the scale there wasn't such a rough idling and the fuel filter was filled 90% every time i stopped to have a look (every 15-20 min)...

Is that problem already known to anybody? :)
