744 TURBO - VIBRATION ON DECELERATION 700 1987

Have developed a vibration on deceleration when braking. Around town comes in at about 70 km/hr then disappears at about 20 km/hr. Almost completely disappears if I down shift and then apply the brakes. Also, characteristics of vibration change with load in car. Thinking could be rear suspension. Any help/ suggestions appreciated.
Thanks Peter Burville TURBO 744/419,000kms
