Timing chains should be just fine. (B280 engine) 700 1988

well, thats good to know about the timing chain. i haven't checked mine yet, and my engine has 240,000 miles on it. supposedly they are good to around 250,000 or so. i just keep changing the oil.

a note on the test diode. i've had it permantly installed for the past year. when the problem occurs the LED usually does not flash. and when it does it happens so quickly that i can't watch it and drive. its not like when it reads out a steady fault, it only generates the flash for one cycle.

i might try setting the valve lash this weekend and check on the timing chain wear.
