removing 02 sensor 700

I have Bosch universal O2 sensors (actually they're listed for a 1992 Ford Mustang GT... I just cut the Ford connector off) on both my 945T and my '92 Mercedes 190E. They work flawlessly -- and only cost $40 each.

I did buy one of the O2 sensor sockets -- it was $10 -- and it worked very well.
But I don't think it's absolutely necessary. I guess it depends on how the sensor is positioned on your car.
