40mm offset, but yes, the FWD wheels DO bolt right on. The only problems that you encounter are rubbing on the inside of the front fenderwell(engine bay side) with some of the wider sizes(17x7.5 in this example). When lowered and equipped with these wheels:

Marc's wagon, pictured, sometimes would rub the tires on the inside fenders going over a bump on the highway and it would be like hitting the brakes. I'd do it, no doubt about it. But I'd probably toss in 3 or 5mm spacers just for the added safety(don't forget longer wheel studs for the 5mm or bigger spacers!)
