1983 Turbo - No Start 200 1983

I've spent the last few days getting our 83 turbo ready for paint--removed bumpers, trim, door handles, etc. Went to take it to the body shop this AM before heading out of town for the day and could not get it to start. Starter turns over (cam spins too), but I couldn't hear the pump relay or the fuel pumps.

I used a jumper wire from fuse 6 to fuse 5 and one of the pumps came on, but still no start (may have been the main pump only?) Fuse 13 appears to be good, as I had instruments and turn signals worked OK.

Right now, I 'm thinking its the green pump relay under the driver's dash (the turbo is the only one I don't have multiple spares for). I guess that it's probably a good candidate for the "Don Foster treatment," but I haven't soldered anything in over 30 years . . .

I was wondering if I could "jump" the relay connector from red (hot) to yellow/red (pump), or is there someting else controlled by the relay that I missed?

Does it sound like I'm on the right track or are there other issues I should be looking for? Right now I'm at Mom-in-law's to attend a reunion (and install a ceiling fan), but may be able to get back to work on it SAT PM.

Any ideas/BTDTs on these old turbos would be greatly appreciated!
