No Start 960

Iv'e been working on my 97 960 bought it with ABS light on turned out to be wheel sensor, $15 at junkyard found wires worn through when cleaning sensors. NO START- I rewired ps's and relay side to the coils, some improvement but still dies within 3 seconds in run, bypassed fuel relays, no effeect, starting fluid, no effect, bought wire and sheilding sleeve for wires from ps's to ecu directly, also might try running can and crank sensors directly to ecu - I want to avoid the underhood connector and possible problems. ALSO plug in knock sensors away from motor to test. I'm thinking all engine wiring is screwed up and rather trust my own after I took apart the coil wires they looked fine but inside the wire looms WAS melted together!
