At $40-50/roll you were in the ballpark, and the roll is typically about as heavy as you want to carry. I am sorry if that is too big or too expensive (lotsa leftovers!), but maybe a neighbor who has done roof work has some in his garage? (Or you can buy more Amazons. Tough decision.)
The name varies by manufacturer, of course. Another brand is WeatherMaster Ice & Water Protection. GAF makes some. More... And all of it's sold at Home Depot, Menards, whatever your home building and repair place is called. Or a ROOFING SUPPLY store, of course. One near us is called Roof Depot.
Generally, the roll's proper name seems to be "Waterproof Shingle Underlayment (WSU). This is a special kind of self-sealing asphalt/polymer sheet..." and they meet a standard: ASTM D-1970 - Ice Dam Underlayment, ANSI/UL 790 Class A or C.
Good old Lowes, Home Depot, WalMart... we sure save money, and must like the places a lot, since we get to drive there so often, after not getting the advice we needed, but are not going to pay for. It was MY turn a few days ago, with buried outdoor wiring, at Home Depot. Just a little help, please, maybe, anyone... noooo... I am outa here! Good side: I could find the store. Bad side: I could not quite find the stuff I needed. Dang! It's all around us: easy to find TV shows, but they are not what we need, etc.
Hey, good luck!
