Switch on the front of car next S90-V90

I have never noticed this switch! Since it's a plunger-type, I suspect it is associated with the alarm as suggested, although I never knew that it was rigged as such. The section in the owner's manual that covers the alarm does not speak to the hood as triggered, only the doors and tailgate/trunk. I dunno... maybe it's associated with the park lock to you don't run over your technician.... OK, it's a stretch, but not totally inconsistent with the Volvo philosophy.
