Odometer Gear 200 1993

Tried to fix my wife's odometer this weekend. Used Eric's
instructions and gear from Jeff Caplan.

When I got into gear, sure enough it was missing teeth.
Took gear out, cleaned things up, put gear in and
instrument panel back in car. Everything worked except
OD stills not work.

Couple of questions:
a. the OD gear has a extended boss on one side.
Does that boss go towards the speedometer
(i.e., the boss spaces the gear off the plasic
disc it sits on) or motor.
b. other than replacing the motor what should I look at.
c. how do I test the motor and where can I get one assuming
it is bad.

Other than the above and taking the 8 plug connections off,
piece of cake to do.

Thanks for the help.
