You gotta use both belts for the alt. 200

Just another note for all you 240 drivers.
when my old volvo was getting tired, it became a race to keep her on the road and spend little or no money. So when the alt belts broke. I didnt' want to spend the extra ten bucks for the second belt, I just put one alt belt back on.
Well it kept slippin, so I had to tighten the hell out of it. ( wouldn't have to done this had I put two like a sensible person would have.) Well after two months driving with an over tighten belt, the water pump went out. changed the pump with an old spare I had, and only planned to drive the car another month so I only used one over tightened belt again. two weeks later, the double pulley which goes over the water pump, cracked, and left me on the road. Still needed the car for another few weeks, and had to go to junk yard for a pulley (30.00) and guess what. Wasn't sure when I would get my bonus, so I went ahead and put the extra belt on it. There is a reason for two belts on the alt. and fan. Too tight for my own good.
