240 driver thinking of a 140 series 140-160

Hello all on 140-160 board.

Just missed out on '74 144 (rust-free, hard start due to blocked fuel filter) for $300 Australian.

Got the Volvo bug it seems and keen to experience the 140 series...

My daily driver is an '88 240 which gives me no trouble at all (touch wood). Am I mad to be considering a 144? I'm thinking of a $300 bomber that I can keep running without minding if it gets scuffed up by theives or idiot drivers.

At the risk of posing a tedious question can anyone advise on what to look out for with this series? Relative merits of the various B20 engines and how you deal with lead-free fuel.

Thanks for any tips

Mike
