740 slight hesitation 700

Just had the head re-done (after breaking a valve spring) and re-built the turbo on my '87 740 Turbo. Replaced the wires...about to do the distributor cap and rotor.

I am still getting some hesitation under load (was getting it before all of the work)....especially climbing a hill in 3rd gear.

I tried disconnecting the vaccuum line to the fuel pressure regulator last night to see if it was faulty...expecting the idle to go up. How much should it rise when I do this? It is hard to tell if it went up at all...nothing noticable on the gauge but a very slight audible change.

In-tank fuel pump is working.
Throttle body was cleaned while off.
AMM looks good and connector seems fine.
Will check the knock sensor for crud.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
