M41 or T5? 140-160

I did the T5, because I got tired of waiting for an m41 to show up locally.

$250 for adapter plate
Code 1511 T5 from 1987 Turbo Coupe $125 (Super deal, included yoke)
Clutch plate $35
Pilot bearing $8
Throwout bearing $20
Speedometer cable $18
Flywheel reface $45.
Driveshaft rebuilt $100
Time and effort to fabricate/modify trans mount and clutchfork pivot - 2 days.

An M41 would handle everything I hope to get out of the newly rebuilt engine, and would have been fine, and downshifting to 4th for passing is not as easy as flipping the stalk.

The t5, however, is so widely available, and with different ratios, that I can now wait for a real deal on any number of transmissions, if I want to raise the ratios any more. The 4cyl ford t5 ratios match the volvo m41 ratios almost exactly.
