AC compressor kicks off and doesn't cycle back on S90-V90 1998

Hi All,

I'm having a problem with my 98 V90 AC. When I start my car, the AC runs fine - nice cool air. After about 15-20 minutes, the compressor will stop running, so the air turns not so cool. If I then turn the compressor switch to OFF, leave it for a few minutes, then turn it back on, the compressor will sometimes start again - but it will not start on its own. The problem is that I live in Atlanta, and while I'm waiting for everything to decide it's ok to start the compressor, I'm baking! I have checked the pressure with one of those guages, and it regsiters between 25 & 45 - so I think that is fine.

Any ideas?

Natalie
