tachometer needle bounces on upshift, normal? 700 1990

1990, 740 w/automatic. B230F and AW7x tranny. The tach needle bounces a bit before stabilizing when flooring the accelerator and shifting high. For example, say I'm accelerating in 1st, and go to 5000RPM. The tranny shifts to 2nd, and the tach needle dips down low a bit then high then low and the bounce decreases until it stabilizes at the right RPM. Repeat the same thing for 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th. The whole bouncing thing lasts for about a second during the shift.

Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks!
