Object on cable inside passenger door - What does it do? Also stop light problem 444-544

James;

...can't help much with the window, but if it's similar to the 122, then the soldered-on ferrule might just have slipped....time to pull of the inner door panel and have a look-see...

Regarding hydraulic style brake light switches...experiences differ from "I've never had a problem with mine" (the rarity!) to "I got tired of replacing them once a week after I changed over to DOT5..." (more typical!). MY experience was unfortunately also on the bad side...and since I consider brakelights to be a crucial safety device, I developed the upgrade kits (eventually for all of the vehicles which use them).

Bottom line is that I have yet to hear of a mechanical switch failing, and you DONT have to make ANY pressure in the system to activate your brake lights...that means you light them earlier...and that increases the time the driver behind you has to react (now if you can only get them to be paying attention...).

Thanks to all for the honorable mention!

Cheers
