Problem with my 1988 volvo 740 Gle B230F engine Advise and help needed!!! 700

Hi everybody (fellow brickboard members)
I own an 1988 volvo 740 GLe with B230F engine witha 160000 miles on the clock. The other day I changed the AMM sensor thinking that i had a bad AMM but it ended up being a small hole on the air intake. with the changed AMM and a tabe on the hole i was driving to local walmart for a duck tape. I stopped at the gas station and got a 10$ woth the gas and continue to my way to walmart. Suddenly my car dies without any backfiring, nothing... so i changed the amm with the one I took off, still nothing.. then I changed the fuel pump relay and i got some action at the engine.. I fires up and then it dies after a sec..when i crank the engine with full throttle nothing happens.. like no gas going to it.. and i can hear the fuel pump runiing extra 4-5 sec. then stops... (i never heard that before..)I am going to see what i can do at the outback parking lot without bothering anybody.. I will try to spray starter fuluid and see it will rev up the engine... I am going towards a bad fuel pressure regulator.. ...If anybody has good one laying around let me borrow to see if that is the problem? And Ilove to hear your input too... I am heading to my fellow volvo and will be back in couple of hours...
thank you for the help
Sammy
