Speedo works, odometer doesn't, gears ok 700 1992

1992 745T Yak Cluster

After a winter of driving around without an odometer, it was finally annoying enough to try and fix. The speedo works fine, which means signal is getting to the cluster. I pulled out the "service" gear to make sure that isn't the problem. The gears all look okay...and the numbers flip around if the first gear is spun (after pulling the drive motor)...but still doesn't work.

Does anyone have a good (or even sketchy, for that matter) way to check if signal is getting to the odometer part? Or to drive the little motor artificially to make sure it is working?

Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful.

Thanks,
-nate
