engine suddenly quits. completely dead 700 1992

Hi, I do not know what is going on with your car but I did have a similar experience with a 1988 240. The problem in that case was that the ignition wire going from the ignition coil to the distributor was in bad shape. One end of the wire was very corroded and part of it had turned to powder. It is unlikely that this is the problem with your car but I definately think checking all your ignition wires would be prudent.
