engine suddenly quits. completely dead 700 1992

I had a similar problem with an 87. Mine was the fuel pressure regulator. It is the vacumme gizmo at the end of the injector rail. After months with the problem my clue was the fuel pump under the driver's seat got louder than normal. Basically it was building too much pressure and made the pump sing. Engine would die and you waited anywhere from a few seconds to 30 minutes for it to restart. May or may not be your problem.
