adjusting door latch 120-130 1967

Sounds like the problem is the striker plate on the door jamb. If I recall correctly it is held in by 2-3 allen screws, and the entire plate moves to make the adjustment. I try to set it up so the door is even with the panel when closed, and so the door doesn't get pushed up or down by the striker plate as it closes. The process is simple trial and error. Loosen the screws, make a adjustment, then test. Repeat until done.
