intermittent start, hot no start, rpm sensor 700 1990

Just wanted to express my gratitude to a couple of posts I read on my 740's symptoms the other day that led me to a $50 15 minute fix for a car that wouldn't start. Symptoms included intermittent stalls. Car had to cool down befor starting. Stalling frequency increased gradually over several months, until no start at all. Plus, as described, the odomoter needle was motionless on crank and battery checked out ok. The old sensor wire housing had split where it connects to the sensor. Relatively, easy to replace - didn't have to remove anything to get to it.
