My 87' TIC M46 is clean as a whistle with 270,000 miles on a "schlock" rebuild. (rings-bearings-gaskets) Total miles 395,000.
Always used Rotella 15W-40.
Tough enough for Cat-Cummins-Detroit Diesel's that go a million miles between OH's- approved for gas and diesel per API
I usually change between 3,000-3,500 miles and use Mann filters.
