240 brakes on a 75 164 140-160

Be assured that although the *rear* brakes (calipers and rotors) from a 240 are perfect on the '75 164 -- but *only* the '75 -- the fronts are an altogether different story. I don't know if those "customized" 240 calipers you're planning to make will work well -- and I'd hate to see them fail when you have to "drop anchor" from highway speed. I do know that the rotors are different -- e.g., Brembo p/n for the '75 164 is VO900 front, VO906 rear; whereas for the 240 series it's VO905 front, VO906 rear -- so I would suspect that the calipers are different, too. There might also be differences in the thread size/pitch for the lines -- you wouldn't want to screw up your brake lines trying to hook them up.

Check into all of this before you experiment. Brakes aren't something to triffle with casually.

Good luck.
