I recommed the one side at a time route, using a strong piece of wood and a floor jack. I did this job a few years back and this method worked well, trying to get both side at once didn't work for me.

I also found it was easier to unbolt the whole mount and bracket from the crossmember as one piece, instead of just taking the mount out by itself.
